Root's sublime knock of 128* not only guided England to a commanding position in the match but also saw him surpass the legendary Rahul Dravid's record for the most catches by a non-wicketkeeper in Test cricket.

With this remarkable achievement, Root now has 253 catches to his name, moving him closer to the all-time record held by Sachin Tendulkar (254).

Should Root take one more catch in the ongoing Test, he will become only the second non-wicketkeeper to surpass Tendulkar's record, after Mahela Jayawardene (256).
