Bears Place Wide Receiver Freddie Swain on Injured Reserve
Swain was drafted by the Seahawks in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft
The Chicago Bears have placed wide receiver Freddie Swain on injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday.
Swain, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks.
The Bears have brought back wide receiver Peter LeBlanc, an undrafted free agent, after placing Swain on injured reserve.
Swain's injury is undisclosed
The nature of Swain's injury is undisclosed.
Swain has caught 21 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns in 20 games over the past two seasons with the Bears.
The Bears are now thin at wide receiver with Swain on injured reserve.
Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool, and Equanimeous St. Brown are the only wide receivers on the Bears' active roster with more than 10 career receptions.
The Bears also have N'Keal Harry, Dante Pettis, and Velus Jones Jr. on the roster, but those three players have a combined 10 career receptions.
Bears sign Peter LeBlanc
The Bears signed LeBlanc to a one-year contract on Wednesday.
LeBlanc, 23, played college football at Akron.
He has spent time with the Saints, Cardinals, and 49ers during his NFL career.
