Tottenham Star In Laughing Gas Shame
Bissouma Filmed Inhaling Deadly Gas
Apologises For 'Severe Lack Of Judgement'
Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma has apologised for a "severe lack of judgement" after footage emerged of him inhaling laughing gas just days before the new season.
The 26-year-old Mali international was filmed taking hits from a balloon filled with nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, in a video that was circulated on social media.
Bissouma, who joined Tottenham from Brighton in the summer, has since issued an apology for his actions.
"I would like to apologise for my actions," Bissouma said in a statement. "I made a severe lack of judgement and I take full responsibility for my actions.
"I am aware of the dangers of inhaling nitrous oxide and I deeply regret my decision to do so.
"I have let myself, my family and the club down. I am committed to making things right and I will do everything in my power to earn back the trust of everyone who has been affected by my actions."
